Catching Up

Okay, so obviously it has been a long time since I have posted. Life has been extremely busy around here, and I really shouldn’t even be spending my time doing other things right now, but I’ve decided to catch the blog up. So, in a nutshell what have we been doing this summer?

CATCHING UP WITH OLD FRIENDS

I had fun having Katie in town and seeing Heather again, and even though I see Jennifer a lot for preschool and play dates, it was fun spending more relaxed time with her. It was great going out with some of my best friends from my early days. You gals are wonderful!

SWIMMING

We’ve of course spent some time swimming this summer. Jaycee was happy to get her cast off so she could spend some time in the pool – and the doctor said that was the best physical therapy for her, so it was a good excuse to keep going.

DANCING

Jaycee had her year end review Dance Recital. It was only two short weeks after she got her cast off, and she was still walking funny, but she did a great job! We were really impressed with her skills even while she was a little crippled.

A FRIENDLY VISIT

In June we were absolutely thrilled to have our good friends the Shumways stop by for a visit while they were in Utah. They are truly some of the best people we have ever known, and we love them. Jaycee was especially excited to see Levi. We had a great time with them and can’t wait to go visit them in Groveland!

PLEASANT VIEW FOUNDERS DAY

In June we were happy to go to Pleasant View’s founders day parade and fireworks, plus a great BBQ at Tammy’s house. The girls loved the parade and blow up toys and had fun up on the football field playing and dancing while we waiting for the fireworks. It was fun as always.

FOURTH OF JULY:

We had a great Fourth. Craig finally got to use is fishing license to do some fly fishing with the boys. Then we all headed up to Cherry Days for some fun. The girls had a blast at the “carnival” playing games, rides, and of course plenty of snow cones and cotton candy. They won some cute prizes and later that day we made some bead bracelets they got. Then another fun BBQ at Tammy’s house and some fireworks. This time we didn’t go up on the field because the noise hurt Rylee’s ears (they are very sensitive), and she enjoyed them much better from down below.

CRAIG’S INSANE BIKE RIDE

My dad is the adventurous type and loves mountain biking. So, he talked Craig into going with him on a ride across and down the peak above our house. I drove them up to Frances Peak at 7:00 AM. My dad had carefully mapped out their trip and estimated they would be back home around 11 or 12. Apparently the map that showed this trail was quite old, and the trail was overgrown. So they spent most of the trip walking their bikes – including carrying them down 2 cliffs. They were gone over 8 hours. But it was a fantastic view! They made it to Thurston Peak too, which is the highest in Davis County.
