A fun Week

This week was quite eventful. We started back to preschool and dance classes, which Jaycee was excited for. She was even moved front and center in her dance class place assignment because her teacher said she is the best and wants the other girls to be able to watch her.   Besides getting back into our regular routine we also did many other activities, and I got a job. Yes, it is true, I got a job. It is temporary and very part time (only 10 hours a week), but I am really excited for it. I am going to be working for the March of Dimes helping with their March for Babies event - I get to work with the family teams, which will be so much fun!

During the week were went to Gavin’s birthday party (Gavin is my nephew). He had his party at one of the new McDonald’s with the really cool playlands.

The girls spent many hours this week rockin’ out to their Hannah Montana dance along:

The girls did their usual arts and craft thing. Jaycee asks for a craft project every day, and spends lots of time drawing, coloring, glueing, making cards, etc.

And, Jaycee’s car seat fell apart so she got to go pick out a new one. I was hoping her old one would last until she hit the 40 pound mark, but oh well. She loves this new one with pink and purple flowers!  Rylee kept asking “where’s mine?”, the poor girl is stuck with her boring old gray carseat.

And, on Saturday we took the girls to Build-a-Bear workshop (thank’s Woods fam) and the girls both made some new stuffies.  They had so much fun.

Jaycee named hers “Hello Kitty” (imagine that), and Rylee named hers “Cookie Bear”.

After Build-a-Bear we went to play with the girl’s cousins at my sister’s house and had a lot of fun there, then headed back home.  After dinner the girls wanted to have a Sleepover with their new stuffed friends:

It was a great week!

~ Tubing ~

I must say, moving back to all of this snow has not been very much fun for me. It is cold, wet, and a pain to drive in. Especially living in our neighborhood that always gets twice as much snow as everyone else in a cul-da-sac that is uphill.  HOWEVER, we have had a ton of fun playing in the snow, and last week was no exception. On new years day we went tubing on our favorite hill, which happens to be right behind Craig’s mom’s house. We love this hill because there is a BIG hill will varying grades of steepness, and then a cruise accross a baseball field and another smaller hill. And the small hill is perfect for little kids like ours. It’s just the size for them to be able to go down and climb back up all by themselves and still have a blast!

This picture above doesn’t really do it justice, but you can see both of the hills here.

Jaycee goes down, followed by Rylee:

They both had such a great time, and I have never seen them more brave. Especially Jaycee. She is usually scared of everything, but she would actually run and jump onto her tube to go down the hill.  It was so fun!

And then for the other part I love about this hill. When everyone is tired and cold and we decided to call it a day, Craig pulls the girls back up the hill to his mom’s nice warm house for some hot chocolate!

This was a great way to start off our New year as a family!

Happy Birthday Jaycee!!!

I am a little late - it has been a crazy week.

Jaycee’s birthday was on Sunday and she had a Hannah Montana Pop Star party with her friends on Saturday. It was a great party with games, karaoke, pizza, and lots of fun!

On her birthday (Sunday) Jaycee wanted to build a snowman - she did a great job! (check out our Snow Days post below), we of course went to church, and then had a nice dinner and presents for her. She had a blast!

We are so blessed to have Jaycee in our lives. She is such an amazing person. She is always happy and fun to be around, cares about everyone around her, and she is smart and talented.   Jaycee has accomplished a lot this year. Since she turned 3 she has:

  • finished her first year in Primary as a Sunbeam
  • started in dance classes (ballet, tap, and jazz), as well as tumbling
  • had her first dance recital AND won an award in her dance class for being the best dancer
  • started in a “real” preschool, as opposed to being taught at home by a group of moms
  • Went on her first “real” rollercoaster
  • Learned to swim and overcame her fear of going under water
  • Planted her first very own plant in the garden
  • moved accross the country, changing classes and teachers and having to make new friends
  • Learned to write her own name, as well as the names of everyone in our family plus at least six other names and words i can think of right now, and she can spell anything she wants as long as you tell her the letters to use
  • Learned to count to 100 (with a little help).
  • And has done so many other things and grown up so much!

We love you Jaycee!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Snow Days

We had a fun December playing in the snow - the girls are absolutely loving it! Although, the last 2times we went out in the backyard to play in the snow Rylee said “no, it’s too cold”.  I think she is still wishing for the South Carolina weather. But regardless of the cold, we are still having fun in the snow!  We have made forts, snowmen, snow angels, shaped trails, and had a lot of snowball fights!  Here are some pictures to share of our December in the snow:
