Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!

We wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving!

Although our small family missed out on the extended family festivities this year (all 4 of us are sick!), we still have plenty to be thankful for.  We are especially thankful for each other and for our friends and family who mean so much to us.

Wishing you all a good one!

Happy Birthday Rylee!

Okay, so I wanted to post this a little sooner but I have been busy having fun. Rylee celebrated her second Birthday on Saturday!

She absolutely loves Strawberry Shortcake and when we gave her some options she chose having a Strawberry Shortcake party, which is just what we did. She doesn’t have too many friends here in Utah yet, so most of our guest list were her little cousins.

We decorated the house as “Strawberryland” and played games themed around the characters. Here are some of our pics:

We had eight different “berry bushes” with prizes for the kids to pick and add to the basket they made earlier.

We served “strawberry” and “honey pie pony” sandwiches with lots of fruit and other things…

opening presents

Jaycee picked out a great present for her sister all by herself. She gave her a Disney Princess notebook and a Strawberry Shortcake doll.

Rylee got 3 Strawberry Shortcake dolls and absolutely loved them!

She also loved her Hannah Montana doll.

And Grandma Wales gave her a car ramp. We have been looking everywhere for a car ramp like they used to make. Craig’s mom has one that he played with when he was young and it is awesome, but not in the best shape. We were so happy to find something fun for Rylee. She loves car ramps and they have been so hard to find!

Here is her cake… we made a simple strawberry shortcake.

Happy birthday!

She loved playing with her toys and all of her friends.

Here is Gentry waving goodbye.

And Todd and Makenna saying goodbye.

It was Aunt Jenni’s birthday too! How fun Rylee gets to share her birthday with her really cool aunt. Happy birthday Jenni - you are awesome!

Later Rylee got to open more presents with just our small family at home (with G-ma & G-pa of course).

Rylee was WAAAY excited for her new laptop! She is always wanting to play with Jaycee’s, so it was great to have her very own!!! She kept closing it and then opening it back up, and every time she would pull this excited face! It was too cute.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYLEE!

We love you so much and we are so glad you are a part of our family!!!

Emilicious

Here is the most Amazing, Beautiful, Sweetest girl in the whole world singing the National Anthem at the Utah Jazz game last night…

Emily you are truly Outstanding! We are so proud of you and we love you so much!!!

For those of you who do not know, Emily is 15 years old and is Craig’s niece. She is one of our favorite people, always nice to everyone, fun to hang out with, funny and goofy, and responsible.

WE LOVE YOU EMILY!!!

(try to just listen, I had kids sitting on my lap so the video is shaky and might make you sick, ALSO the “oh say” is missing because my stupid camera wouldn’t start recording).

More Pics from the Jazz Game

We had a great excuse to go see a Jazz game as a family when Emily was chosen to sing the National Anthem. Plus our tickets were only $3 a piece so it was a great deal (you can probably tell from our pics that they were cheap-o seats!)! Our family has gone to professional games together before, but we haven’t ever taken the kids to a national league game, so this was kind of a first for them. It was a little loud, but they had a great time! And Chenylle came with us as well. It was great!

And did I mention what an amazing job Emily did????

Halloween Adventures

Filed under: Uncategorized — JaNae @ 8:57 am

We had a stress-free run-of-the-mill halloween. We had fun hanging out at the house during the day, then had our traditional chili dinner, and after dinner the kids got all dressed up and we took them trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. We have always done things like trunk-or-treats in the past, so we thought it would be fun to take the kids around the neighborhood for a change. We had a great time!

The kids were so cute when we went trick-or-treating. At most houses they would say “trick-or-treat” so quietly no one could hear them. Then suddenly at one house they both yelled really loudly “trick-or-treat, smell my feet”. The lady was laughing.
At one of the first houses we went to the kids got the large-size juice boxes. They totally weighed down their halloween pumpkin buckets, so we had to help them carry them the rest of the way. They mostly got regular candy, but we did get a free movie rental too!

Rylee would get a little impatient waiting at the door. We would ring the doorbell and wait a few seconds, then she would yell “I’ll get it” and start opening the door.

Of course we had to stop by aunt Margaret’s house too, because she lives in our neighborhood. The girls were so excited to see her. They LOVE aunt Margaret!

After trick-or-treating we went to Aunt Tammy’s house to trick-or-treat and visit for a minute, and then to Grandma Wales’ house. Tammy is hilariouis, she would have a bowl full of fun-size candy bars, and when groups of kids came to the door she would give all of the bigger kids a fun-size candy, then she would give the smallest kid this giant size Kit Kat. All of the other kids faces would drop. It was so funny to watch!

Rylee LOVES her candy, so she of course could not wait to dump it out on Grandma’s floor to see what she got. She opened one piece after the other without finishing any of them.

We hung out at Grandma’s house for quite a while, then visited Dave & Kay to show off our costumes over there too. Here are the rest of our pictures:

(Just haning out!)
