Rylee walked all the way across the room today. Hooray for Rylee!

Cookies!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — JaNae @ 4:31 pm

Rylee has a fever and we’ve been stuck inside, so Jaycee and I finally mastered the art of making whole wheat sugar cookies. (don’t mind her messy hair in the pictures, i never fixed it after her nap).

I’m not much of a baker (I’d rather just buy the ready-to-bake cookie dough), but these ones turned out actually tasting like they are supposed to!

I am so proud of myself - and so is Jaycee. We plan on sharing them with our friends tomorrow, so hopefully they wont mind the whole wheat!

Sleepy Day

Filed under: Uncategorized — JaNae @ 5:00 pm

So this weekend I wasn’t feeling good and we got off to a lazy start. Here are the girls - they fell asleep together, and the puppy fell asleep just across the room. I’m sure getting the 3 of them to nap at the same time will never happen again!

Okay - I was asked about this today, so I fixed the settings so that all of our friends and family can now post comments to our blog. Just be nice. :)

She did it!

Filed under: Uncategorized — JaNae @ 3:09 pm

This may look like a simple picture of Rylee hanging on to the couch, but she got there by taking three steps between clinging onto my leg and grabbing the couch. We are so excited! I guess the physical therapy is paying off. It’s so fun to see her hit these milestones so soon, after 2 hip surgeries and body casts we thought it would take longer.

New Puppy!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — JaNae @ 7:14 pm

A new addition joined our family yesterday - another little Shih-Tzu puppy. He is adorable, cuddly, and playful. We aren’t sure on the name yet. So far Jaycee wants “Boy” or “Howard” (I know I told some of you “Tom Tom” but that phase has passed). We even considered naming him “Jimmy” after his human uncle. He is so much fun! Rylee and “woof woof”, as she calls him, take turns chasing each other around the house. The puppy loves chasing her feet as she crawls and trying to climb up her back. He also likes stealing her toys. The first few hours he was at our home Jaycee would not get off the couch in fear the puppy would lick her, but as soon as she had a chance to show him to our friends, the Woods family, she would not put him down! She wants to carry him around everywhere she goes. We are happy to have him. Check him out - he is a cutie!!!

Cold Day

Filed under: Uncategorized — JaNae @ 4:45 pm
It has been cold here in South Carolina - well, cold for here anyway, and the humidity makes it all the worse. We had a day in the low 30’s with overnight low in the 20’s - (I know it’s nothing like -20′ but of course that night our heater broke. Thank goodness for space heaters). Jaycee was too cold to go outside so she spent the day inside taking pictures of herself and being silly!

In the meantime, Rylee had fun playing in the refridgerator…

It Snowed!!!

Okay - this might look pathetic to everyone, but we were excited to actually see white stuff falling from the sky at our house last night! This is all that stuck to our back steps - not much, but still snow!!!

This week recap

Filed under: Uncategorized — JaNae @ 10:30 am

Nothing super exciting happened this week, but Jaycee went to a really fun birthday party for her friend Emma, where Emma’s Fairy Godmother came and did magic and face-painting. Here is Jaycee’s butterfly face:

Other than that we mostly hung out this week and just took care of errands that we had been behind on. The girls sure do love each other though. It’s nice to see them becoming best friends.

Rylee Is Standing Up!

Filed under: Uncategorized — JaNae @ 10:44 am

I couldn’t get a picture of it yet, but just this week Rylee started standing by herself. It only lasts 10 or 20 seconds, but still she is doing it and we are so excited. She is very ambitious and is recovering so well from her hip surgery. Now that she can balance on her own we are sure it will be no time before she is walking!!!
